The Tampa Bay Lightning always seem to be in the mix at the trade deadline loading up for the playoffs and this year is no different.
Last night The Lightning acquired forward Tanner Jeannot from Nashville Predators, in exchange for defenceman Cal Foote, 2025 first-round pick (top-ten Protected), 2024 second-round pick, 2023 third-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick and a 2023 fifth-roun pick.
It seems like alot for Jeannot, but apparently the Lightning's General Julien BriseBois has big plans for Jeannot. Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli would reveal Lightning's General Julien BriseBois has big plans for Jeannot, according to the Lightning they're looking to sign Jeannot long-term.
Here's what Seravalli had to say on Twitter:
"Would be surprised if #GoBolts don't go long-term now with Jeannot. Believe #preds and Jeannot were talking somewhere in the 6 years x $2 mil range.
Nick Paul signed in TBL 7 years x $3.15m ($22.05m). Colton Sissons in NSH was 7 years x $2.86m ($20m). Both bought more UFA years."
Jeannot is 25 years-old and had 5 goals, and 9 assists, in 56 games with the Predators. Jeannot is a pending RFA and is currently making just $800,000.
