LATEST | Flames and Canucks talking big trade
The Canucks have already declared themselves as sellers for the upcoming trade deadline and they've got plenty of assets that should be gathering loads of interest.
Today though, David Pagnotta, an insider from The Fourth Period, advance that the Flames and the Canucks had been in talks for Brock Boeser and Luke Schenn.
Both had already been linked to the Flames, they've made it pretty clear that they were looking to add up front and Schenn is a hot commodity for any team trying to make a deep push into the playoffs.
Though the Flames have a defensive core filled with right-handed defensemen, so perhaps they'd try and free up some space if they wanted to acquire Schenn. Since Rasmus Andersson, Chris Tanev, MacBenzie Weegar and Michael Stone are all right-handed.
Perhaps they would also try and move some money to acquire Boeser to shake it up offensively. The Flames have a well-known knack for Canucks players since they already star Tyler Toffoli, Jacob Markstrom, and Chris Tanev.
Matching Brock Boeser with Luke Schenn would be an excellent opportunity for the Canucks to avoid any salary retention or increase the return. Now, what return would satisfy your wills for both players?
