LATEST | Nashville Predators place young forward on waivers
The Nashville Predators have made some news on the waiver wire on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the team has decided to place 24-year-old forward John Leonard on waivers with the hope of him clearing and playing for the Milwaukee Admirals in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Predators acquired Leonard and a 2023 third-round pick on July 8th, 2022 from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward
Luke Kunin.
Leonard, a native of Westwood (New Jersey), has played in five game for the Predators this season, putting up one goal, but as spent the majority of the year in the AHL where he has 38 points in 61 games, which is a career-high.
If Leonard clears waivers at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday afternoon, he'll be assigned to Milwaukee, who have already clinched a playoff spot, currently sit second in the AHL's Central Division and are one point back of the Texas Stars for first place.
