Currently starring a 35-23-3 record, they've just confirmed their spot at the AHL's spring dance. Jeremy Colliton, the team's head coach, had them playing from the beginning and they succeeded even with the tons of roster movement they had on their hands with the injuries. A team and league announcement confirmed that they had clinched a playoff spot for a second year straight:
Led notably by Chris Wolanin and Phil Di Giuseppe who are both in Vancouver at this moment, Linus Karlsson, Nils Hoglander, and Arshdeep Bains have picked it up. The way they've played as of late definitely gives us a reason to remember their names for the near future. Karlsson and Hoglander are both high draft picks while Bains was signed as a WHL free agent and he's been tremendous ever since he turned pro.
According to Chris Faber, who follows the Abbotsford Canucks on a daily basis, Bains has more than enough tools in his bags to reach the game's highest levels. Have a look at some of his highlights.
The bright side here is that the youngsters in Abby will be given a great opportunity to add experience through meaningful hockey. Experience is surely something that can't be bought and it's the first step to take toward building a winning culture.
