After the trade deadline passed on Friday, TSN shared their grades for each of the seven Canadian teams and it wasn't good for Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks were very quiet at the National Hockey League's trade deadline on Friday, as Patrik Allvin didn't make a single deal, citing poor offers as the reason he stood pat.
Patrik Allvin has drawn plenty of criticism for the lack of activity from the Vancouver Canucks fan base, which is understandable as now the team could lose Brock Boeser for nothing when the free agency window opens on Canada Day.

TSN gives Vancouver Canucks lowest grade among Canadian teams at trade deadline

Once the deals were completed and the buzzer sounded at 12 pm PT, former NHL General Manager Craig Button and former NHL forward Mike Johnson shared their opinions on how each of the Canadian teams faired on deadline day and gave a grade for each club.
The Toronto Maple Leafs came out on top as they were given an A- for their acquisitions of Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers and Brandon Carlo from the Boston Bruins.
Meanwhile for the Vancouver Canucks, they were given the lowest grade of any Canadian teams with a C- after not moving any of their pending unrestricted free agents - Brock Boeser, Pius Suter or Derek Forbort.
"To me it's really simple. Jim Rutherford came out when they traded J.T. Miller and said they're not a contender. So you're not a contender and you do nothing? To me they're just nowhere." Button said.

Johnson added, "That's the problem. I get the own rental thing, you want to get into the playoffs. That's a lot of money in gate revenue and the rest of it, but you're not anywhere as near as good as the top teams in the West. So the likelihood of you getting into the Stanley Cup Final is slim. So with that being the case, you'd be well served to trade Brock Boeser. We talked a lot about scoring wingers. He would have value around the league, he's a very good player and they were not able to make that transaction and get the C- for being a little too quiet."

It's going to be interesting to see if Patrik Allvin being quiet at the NHL's trade deadline was the right call if the Vancouver Canucks end up making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and potentially past the first round, which seems unlikely, especially if they have to face someone like Winnipeg, Dallas or Vegas.
