TRADE ALERT | Oilers acquire highly sought-after prospect from the Rangers
Trades a rare theses day, but the Edmonton Oilers and the New York Rangers announced one involving a pick and a prospect.
As confirmed by Chris Johnston, the Oilers are acquiring the rights to Jayden Grubbe for a 2023 5th Round Selection:
This deal may seem odd since Grubbe needs to be signed by 5pm on June 1st, otherwise they'll lose his rights and he'll be a free agent.
After this trade, the Oilers now own only a few draft picks as they'll be heading to the 2023 Draft with only 3 selections:
Grubbe is a 6'03'' and 200 pounds 20-year-old centerman who collected 67 points in 64 games this year in Red Deer. The Rangers had picked him in the 3rd Round in 2021.
