The San Jose Sharks have had an awful start to the 2023-24 season, going 1-11-1 in their first 13 games and grabbed their first win of the year on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

With the Sharks having their focus on the future, it looks like they're on the verge of acquiring a young defenceman from the Minnesota Wild.

According to Kevin Weekes of ESPN, the San Jose Sharks are bringing in 23-year-old defenceman Calen Addison in a trade with the Minnesota Wild.

"**Breaking News** 🚨 📰 I'm told the @mnwild are closing in on trading D Calen Addison to the @SanJoseSharks. Working on details for return pieces, but wouldn't be surprised if a draft pick in involved. #HockeyTwitter" Weekes said.

Addison, a native of Brandon, Manitoba, has appeared in 12 games so far this season for the Minnesota Wild, putting up five assists, six penalty minutes and was a minus-three. This past summer, Addison was a restricted free agent and didn't re-sign with the Minnesota Wild until September 19th, just before training camp.
