The Canucks will have tons of roster and contractual issue to adresse at this season's end and the Montreal Canadiens could be a way out. The two of teams have reached agreements in the past and there is ongoing speculation that both teams could opt to reconnect in hopes of filling both team's needs.
Former 3rd Overall on the Trade Block?
According to the NHL Trade Rumor website, rumors are going around that the Montreal Canadiens could be evaluating the possibility of trading away the young star in the making, former 3rd overall Kirby Dach. Looking for stability and depth, the report suggests that Pius Suter could be the Canadiens' primary target.
By the looks of it, a netminder swap between Cayden Primeau and Arturs Silovs would complete this trade. The Canucks will need to add a backup for Demko, and Primeau would be better suited for this role, as Silovs could fight Samuel Montembeault for Montreal's number-one masked man.
Adding Dach could go a long way in creating cheap and affordable offensive depth since he's signed for two more years at a little over $3.3M. Dach has been sidelined for important injuries, and things haven't gone as hoped for him with the Canadiens.
