On the Donnie and Dhali podcast to discuss the contract negotiations between Filip Hronek and the Vancouver Canucks. The 26-year-old defenceman, in his first full season with Vancouver, is enjoying a career year just in time to cash in for a long-term deal.

Some insiders say the right-handed shooting d-man could garner as much as $8 million annually. Craig Button, however, says the Canucks need to draw a line in the sand.

No, I don't
said Button clearly when asked if Hronek is an $8 million defenceman.
If it starts with an 8, you know what I'm doing? Nice having you Filip, bye-bye.

Button agreed with the podcast hosts that Hronek shouldn't make a penny more than Quinn Hughes and the Canucks need to be ready to walk away from Hronek.

He said the Canucks should take the same approach with Elias Lindholm using JT Miller as the bar.
