The Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres are reportedly coming together to complete a massive trade on deadline day involving Dylan Cozens.
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin got into the trade spirit last night,
making a deal with the New York Rangers that sent
Carson Soucy to The Big Apple and while more trades are possible from him today, there's going to be some interesting names to keep an eye on elsewhere around the NHL.
Buffalo Sabres reportedly trade Dylan Cozens to Ottawa Senators
In a post on X on Friday morning, ESPN's Kevin Weekes posted that the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres are working on a trade involving
Jacob Bernard-Docker and
Josh Norris.
"I'm told @Senators and @BuffaloSabres are working a potential trade which may include F's Norris and Bernard Docker." Weekes said.
Further to Weekes' report, Chad DeDominicis of Expected Buffalo shared that he believes the Ottawa Senators will be acquiring 2019 seventh overall pick Dylan Cozens in the trade.
"I believe Cozens may be going to Ottawa" DeDominicis said on X.
Cozens, a native of Whitehorse, Yukon, has spent his entire five year NHL career with the Buffalo Sabres, but has taken a bit of a step back in the last couple of seasons after a 31-goal, 68-point campaign in 2022-23.
In 61 games this season with the Buffalo Sabres, Cozens has put up 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists), 62 penalty minutes and is a minus-13.
The Buffalo Sabres are looking to make some moves that help them get over the hump next season as they're about to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 14th year in a row.
