LATEST | Dhaliwal gives update on Ethan Bear: Timeline on his next deal
Ethan Bear is nearly two months into his recovery from his shoulder surgery, an injury which he sustained in the playoff round at the 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship with Canada.
Bear isn't expected to be able to return to game action until December and the Canucks decided in late-June not to issue him a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, several teams have interest in signing Ethan Bear and among those teams are the Vancouver Canucks. Dhaliwal added that Bear could sign after the 2023-24 season starts in either October or November.
Bear, 26, appeared in 61 games during his first season in a Canucks uniform where he tallied 16 points (three goals, 13 assists), 25 penalty minutes and was a plus-six.
