A former Vancouver Canucks forward is set to miss the remainder of his team's 2024-25 season due to an injury he sustained over the weekend in St. Louis.

One week after laying a dangerous hit on Filip Chytil, which unfortunately resulted in a concussion, former Vancouver Canucks forward Jason Dickinson has seen his season come to an end.

Jason Dickinson's season comes to an early end due to injury

As the Chicago Blackhawks were preparing for their game tomorrow night against the New Jersey Devils, the team issued a pair of injury updates to former Vancouver Canuck Jason Dickinson and defenseman Alec Martinez.
Chicago Blackhawks interim head coach Anders Sorensen told reporters on Tuesday that Jason Dickinson will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season with a wrist injury.
"Yeah, he's had some bad luck; he's had some bad luck throughout the season missed extended time Sorensen said. "Penalty kill is one thing, but obviously we know in terms of shutting other teams' top lines down he's done a good job the last couple of years here."

He added, "It's a loss, but it's an opportunity for other players to step up here."
The wrist injury that Dickinson is suffering from occurred during a fight on Saturday night in St. Louis against the Blues.
St. Louis Blues forward Jake Neighbours hit Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez from behind late in the first period and Jason Dickinson dropped the mitts to stand up for his teammate.
Dickinson was handed a two-minute minor for instigating, a five-minute major for fighting and a ten-minute misconduct on the play and due to the injury, did not return.
In 59 games this season, Dickinson registered 16 points (seven goals, nine assists), 38 penalty minutes and was a minus-11.
The Georgetown, Ontario native has one year remaining on his contract with the Chicago Blackhawks at a cap hit of $4.25 million and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, 2026.
