LATEST | Draisaitl frustrated with reporter's question after loss to Sharks
Thursday night's game against the San Jose Sharks is something the Edmonton Oilers will want to put behind them quickly in order to turn their attention on getting out of this current slump to start the year.
Heading into Thursday's game, the Oilers were on a three-game losing streak and were facing the worst team in the NHL, the 1-11-1 San Jose Sharks. It's been a rough week for Edmonton to say the least, one which saw them place Jack Campbell on waivers.
No one would have expected the team to come into the SAP Center in San Jose and lose to the Sharks, but that's exactly what happened, as the Oilers dropped the game by a score of 3-2.
When meeting with reporters after the game, Leon Draisaitl, who leads the Oilers with 15 points in 12 games, was not happy after receiving a question from the media.
A member of the media asked Draisaitl if he's ever felt something like this in his career where no one could get it going and the 27-year-old responded with three words: "Yep. Great observation."
Reporter: "Is that just it, where it doesn't feel like anyone's going right now? Have you ever experienced something like this, where, you know, some guys will slump obviously, but it just feels like no ones going right now?"
Leon Draisaitl: "Yep. Great observation."
It's safe to say that tensions are high in Edmonton and that their entire group is frustrated, which they should be after starting the season 2-9-1. If the Oilers keep playing as poorly as they are, change will be coming, there's no doubt about that.
