LATEST | Former Vancouver Canucks forward finds new home for 2023-24 season
After attending training camp with the Edmonton Oilers on a professional tryout contract, there wasn't much cap space to sign former Vancouver Canucks forward Sam Gagner.
The 34-year-old, who was in his third stint with the Oilers, was never officially released from his professional tryout contract,. On Monday, it was revealed that he will remain with the organization.
The Bakersfield Condors, Edmonton's American Hockey League affiliate, announced they signed Sam Gagner for the 2023024 season.
"The Condors have signed winger Sam Gagner to an AHL deal. He will wear 89 in #Condorstown." The Condors said in a post on X.
Gagner, a native of London, Ontario, spent parts of two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks in 2017-18 and 2018-19, where he amassed 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists), 39 penalty minutes and was a minus-21 in 82 games.
