The Edmonton Oilers have been playing quite a lot better under new Head Coach Kris Knoblauch with captain Connor McDavid leading the way with several multi-point outings.

While it's going to be a tough climb for the Oilers as they try to get into a playoff spot in the Pacific Division, but there's a possibility they could dip into the trade market to aid with their push towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Kevin Weekes shared that the Edmonton Oilers are exploring the trade options regarding 22-year-old defenceman Philip Broberg.

"👀 I'm told the @EdmontonOilers are exploring potential Trade options on young D Broberg. Given the #LetsGoOilers Cap situation, it would likely have to be dollar for dollar transaction. #HockeyX #HockeyTwitter #Alberta." Weekes said.

Broberg, a native of Orebro, Sweden, was selected eighth overall by the Oilers in 2019, two spots ahead of the Vancouver Canucks, who took Vasili Podkolzin.

In ten games with the Oilers this season, Broberg has no points or penalty minutes and is a minus-two, while putting up two assists in four games for their AHL affiliate in Bakersfield.
