It was already leaked that the Oilers would be signing the long-time Canuck Brandon Sutter to a professional try-out ahead of their training camp.
It was reported earlier today, that the Oilers would turning to 2007 first round pick and now 34 years old, Sam Gagner. Gagner lined up with the Winnipeg Jets last year and collected a shallow 14 points in 48 games, he'll be trying his luck with one the league's most lethal offence:
'' It looks like the #Oilers are turning to a long-time journeyman they originally drafted in Sam Gagner.
The team is reportedly going to give him a PTO for the 202324 training camp. More details on the Oilers potentially bringing Gagner back here.''
Over the course of his 16 NHL season career, Gagner spent time with the Oilers, the Coyotes, the Flyers, the Blue Jackets, the Red Wings and most recently the Jets. On top of that, the veteran forward dressed up for 81 games over two season with the Canucks.
