NHL makes an announcement on the Edmonton Oilers and the playoffs
Only a few days ago, the Canucks had sole possession of the Western Conference's first rank. While the Canucks slowed down a bit, it's been quite the contrary with the Oilers who have been stepping up their game big time.
The NHL issued a statement on the Oilers announcing that their Round 1 possible opponent was either going to be the Los Angeles Kings, the Las Vegas Golden Knights, the Nashville Predators or the St. Louis Blues. The Canucks will also be facing with one of these teams in the first round:
Edmonton can finish anywhere from 1st to 3rd in its division and still has a shot at the Presidents' Trophy. They will face either Los Angeles, Vegas, Nashville or St. Louis in R1.
The Oilers and the Canucks will be meeting on Saturday for a game that will play an exceedingly important role in determining the 1st Round matchups.
