The Vancouver Canucks and Patrik Allvin are expected to be very busy in the coming weeks as we slowly approach the National Hockey League's trade deadline.

One of Vancouver's reported targets, Jake Guentzel of the Pittsburgh Penguins, is going to be a hot commodity ahead of March 8th as plenty of teams will want to add the former 40-goal scorer for a deep playoff run.

According to ESPN's Emily Kaplan, there is a real chance that Guentzel could be moved by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"There's a very real chance that one of the most popular and consistently productive Pittsburgh Penguins players gets dealt, and the next few weeks are crucial."

Guentzel, 29, is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2023-24 season and the price to acquire him is reportedly going to be quite a lot, potentially including a first-round pick and prospects.

In 39 games this season, Omaha native has 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-nine. He's currently on his way to a seventh consecutive 20+ goal season and for Patrik Allvin and the Canucks, being able to have the opportunity to add a player of Guentzel's calibre to their top-six would put them over the top and aid in their chances of a deep playoff run.
