Vancouver Canucks' geographical rival, the Seattle Kraken, have placed a pair of players on the National Hockey League's waiver wire on Friday.

With the National Hockey League's regular season winding down and for some teams, like the Vancouver Canucks, they're set to miss the playoffs and focus will shift elsewhere, such as their respective AHL affiliates.
The Seattle Kraken are set to miss out on the postseason for the second straight season and third time in their four-year existence, but their AHL affiliate in Coachella Valley are looking for their third straight Calder Cup Finals appearance and look to be getting some help tomorrow.

Seattle Kraken place two players on NHL waiver wire

In a post on social media on Friday, Chris Johnston of TSN shared that the Seattle Kraken have placed forward John Hayden and defenseman Cale Fleury on waivers for the purpose of being assigned to the American Hockey League.
"John Hayden and Cale Fleury have been placed on waivers by the #SeaKraken" Johnston said.
Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed an interesting tidbit about Cale Fleury, saying that the blueliner is now eligible for unrestricted free agency because he won't reach 80 career games in the NHL before the end of the season.
"Fleury & Hayden (SEA) on waivers.

Fleury last night became eligible for Unrestricted Free Agency - won't have played 80 NHL games by the end of this season (by age 25)" Friedman said.
Fleury, 26, appeared in 14 games with Seattle this season, registering one assist and 36 games down in Coachella Valley where he picked up 24 points (six goals, 18 assists).
As for John Hayden, who has 268 games of NHL experience, he tallied two points in 19 games with the Seattle Kraken this season and 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 43 contests in the AHL.
Given playoff eligibility rules, it's very unlikely that either Cale Fleury or John Hayden will be claimed off waivers at 11 am PT tomorrow, but crazier things have happened.
