Craig Button gives his take on the Canucks new captain: Finally has positive things to say
Not so long ago, the renowned TSN Analyst absolutely scorched the Canucks on social media for the direction the franchise was taking. With the whole Bruce Boudreau fiasco, Craig Button took swings at the Canucks and its ownership. After they've made a few moves and announced their new captain, Button was once again asked to comment on the Franchise's new tide, which held many promises.
As TSN's Director of Scouting, Buttons joined Gino Reda to share his thoughts on why he believes defenceman Quinn Hughes is ready to be Vancouver's captain. Button is quite impressed with his on-ice demeanour, but the way he's grown off the ice makes him the best guy to put under the spotlight in one of hockey's most intense markets.
Hughes has cumulated an impressive record since he first came to the league, and coming from a hockey background, he sure knows what the best leaders have in store. Ever since Horvat left, it's clear he's taken the next step in the leadership role, and by the end of the season, it seemed clear that the team had been following in his footsteps. Now, can they keep it up? Will Hughes finally be the one that leads the Canucks back to playoffs?
