Former top pick about to hit waivers: Keeping a close eye on Allvin
The Ottawa Senators are set to put their 2018 first-round pick, 26th overall, Jacob Bernard-Docker, on waivers tomorrow.
Bernard-Docker spent three years at the University of Dakota, where the 6'0 ft defenseman excelled, recording 60 points in 95 games. The Senators liked Bernard-Docker's game and drafted him in the first round.
Since then, It's been a bit of an up-and-down tenure with Senators. Bernard-Docker has played in games in three straight seasons but has yet to become a regular with the team. He spent 19 games last season with the team and 41 games in the AHL. If he clears, it will be his 3rd season in the AHL.
Another team will likely claim him and potentially give him a chance, given his obvious talent. The Canucks could be one of the teams in the loop on him. It will be interesting to see if Allvin takes a look at Bernard-Docker.
