Hot start continues for Lekkerimäki: Scores another highlight reel
Jonathan Lekkerimaki is off to a torrid start in the Swedish Hockey League. The Canucks' 15th overall pick in 2022 scored again on Saturday night, bringing his total this season to four in just six games.
The 19-year-old showed off his shot, finishing the cycle in this video from Chris Faber.
Lekkerimäki's had a solid start to the season with his new Örebro HK team after struggling to score with Djurgardens last year. With Saturday's marker, the winger has already topped his goal total from last season. Lekkerimäki and his Örebro team will play next against Frölunda on Thursday.
Lekkerimaki's Draft+1 season wasn't as strong as anyone had hoped, but since last year's playoff push, he's been excellent. He'll most likely be an essential asset for the Swedes at this year's World Juniors. With his ELC already signed, he could join the Abbotsford Canucks as soon as his SHL season ends.
