LATEST | Canucks' captain Quinn Hughes is currently making strong pushes to reunite with a former teammate: Management is listening
The Canucks reported targets for the upcoming trade deadline are a top 6 forward and a top 4 defenceman.
Specifically on the blueline, the Canucks may be looking at a reunion with a former Canuck.
Rick Dhaliwal says that the team's captain is advocating for a Vancouver return for Chris Tanev.
Quinn Hughes has gone to bat for him this year, and told management that Tanev is the guy that you guys should target, Dhaliwal said.
And Tanev loves Vancouver, I know for a fact that if he became a free agent July 1, Vancouver would be very, very high on his list for potential places to go.
Dhaliwal says there is "tremendous respect" for Tanev throughout the Canucks' organization.
He also named Elias Lindholm as a player of interest for the Canucks, but said it's really a matter of how much Vancouver is willing to give up when it comes to those players.
