LATEST | Canucks to make call-up ahead of four-game road trip
The Vancouver Canucks are set to embark on a four-game road trip, with the first stop being in Minnesota for a matinee puck drop on Saturday against the Wild.
With an open roster spot, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said post-game on Thursday that he'll discuss with Patrik Allvin on who they should call up before leaving for Minnesota.
"#Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet notes that he'll meet with Patrik Allvin tonight and decide on a call up for the upcoming trip.
Sounds like someone will be coming up from Abbotsford tomorrow."
There are plenty of options for the Canucks down in Abbotsford, but at this time, it's unclear if they're going to bring an extra forward or defenceman on the trip, but there are a few names to at least keep an eye on.
If they decide to go with someone on the blue line, it could be either Christian Wolanin or Matt Irwin, the latter of whom is ineligible for waivers, according to Thomas Drance.
However, if Patrik Allvin wants to bring a forward on the trip, this could be the perfect opportunity for 22-year-old Arshdeep Bains, who's been playing very well in the American Hockey League, recording 22 points in 20 games. Another forward option could be Aatu Raty, who has 17 points in 22 games.
