While the attention of the hockey world is on the World Juniors for the next 11 days, another international event is set to get underway in Davos, Switzerland, that being the Spengler Cup, which is in its 100th year.

Canada is set to get their tournament underway at 11:15 a.m. PT/2:15 p.m. ET today against the hosts, HC Davos, who play in the top division in Switzerland - National League.

On Christmas, as they do every year, Canada names their leadership group for the tournament and takes their team photo outdoors in front of the famous Eisstadion Davos. This year, Canada decided to name a former Vancouver Canucks defenceman their captain, Jordie Benn.
