LATEST | NHL makes an official announcement regarding Rick Tocchet
The Vancouver Canucks are going to be well represented at the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend in Toronto next month.
Earlier this month, the league announced Quinn Hughes as Vancouver's representative for the weekend and then on Saturday, it was revealed that Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko were voted in by the fans.
On Sunday, the National Hockey League shared the four coaches that will be coaching the four drafted teams at Scotiabank Arena in early February and among those named was Vancouver Canucks bench boss Rick Tocchet.
"The @NHL announced today that Jim Montgomery (@NHLBruins), Rick Bowness (@NHLJets), Peter Laviolette (@NYRangers) and Rick Tocchet (@Canucks) will serve as the head coaches for the 2024 #NHLAllStar Weekend, Feb. 1-3 in Toronto."
"Tocchet also is making his second career trip to All-Star Weekend as head coach (2020) to go along with his four appearances during an 18-year NHL playing career."
Tocchet has done a great job this season of having his group by into the system he wants them to play and in doing so, has led them to a record of 29-11-3 in 43 games. As of Sunday morning, the Canucks sit first place in the Pacific Division, Western Conference and the entire National Hockey League.
All-Star Weekend begins on Feburary 1st with the Player Draft, followed by the Skills Competition on February 2nd and mini three-on-three tournament on Saturday, February 3rd.
