With rumours flying around wildly at this time of year, it's important to take things with a grain of salt, including today's report that the Vancouver Canucks are interested in Boone Jenner of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
While it's entirely possible Allvin and his group will look into the potential of adding Jenner, who very well could be on his way out of Columbus in the coming weeks, their sights are likely set on a bigger name, such as Jake Guentzel.
However, according to this report, the Canucks would send a package of prospect Vilmer Alriksson and three draft picks (2024 first-round, 2025 second-round, 2026 fourth-round) for Boone Jenner, which is quite the hefty price tag, if this turns out to be true.
Jenner, 30, has been out of the Blue Jackets' lineup since early December due to a fractured jaw after taking a puck in the face.
The Blue Jackets captian has spent his entire 11-year National Hockey League career in Columbus, recording 347 points in 686 games, including 18 in 29 games this season prior to his injury.
The Dorchester, Ontario native has two years remaining on his contract following the 2023-24 season with a cap hit of $3.75 million. Jenner's contract also includes a modified no-trade clause with an eight team no-trade list and at this time, it's unclear if the Canucks are on that list or not.
