CANUCKS PRESIDENT BREAKS THE SILENCE ON THE RUSSIAN
Jim Rutherford, the Canucks' President, was on the Bob McKown Podcast earlier and finally addresse this whole saga, how the Canucks felt regarding his performances and they way he fitted into the team's plans.
It comes as no surprise when he states that his performances have disappointed, despite the fact that he came prepared and in game-shape after putting in the work.
The response he gave after being ask what the team's plans were regarding his future with the Canucks have been raising lots of concern. It may be an indication that the Canucks are looking at their options and they may not include the Russian:
It wasn't too long ago that the Canucks were heavily criticized for their handling of the Bruce Boudreau situation. Rutherford was asked a similar question and then gave a similar response:
Despite the fact that he's in a down-time, Kuzmenko still holds value on the market since he's shown that he's an elite goalscorer. The 39 tallies he managed last year are a great example of that. If the Canucks intend on making a steeper run down the road, would it be wise to capitalize on their 13th forward value? To add a player who would be contributing to the team's success? Or should they hold on to him in hopes that he'll turn around, fit into Tocchet's schemes and start scoring again?
