There's been lots of talks in the NHL surrounding the Canucks decision to demote Ian Clarke from director of goaltending to scout.

Reports came out suggesting that there had been friction between Demko and Clark; that it was the cause for the Canucks to adopt changes to their current staff.

NHL Network analyst Kevin Woodley opened up on the situation and clarified a few things. While he believes the Canucks may have been disrespectful in their handling of Ian Clarke and his new career as the team's new scout, he confirmed that it had no relation with the relationship he held with Thatcher Demko.

I've talked to other guys in the league who have been around for a long time...and how they are blown by how the way they've decided to go on this.

I'm not using the word disrespectful, but other people have

Some clarity is needed in this story; it wouldn't be the first time that the Canucks' organization would be taking heat over the firing or demotion of one of their staff member (Bruce Boudreau). Especially after Clarke was openly recognized as an instrumental part of the team's goaltender development and Thatcher Demko's rise from a blue-chip prospect to an all-star netminder.

We'll keep you posted on the latest updates regarding the Canucks, Thatcher Demko and Ian Clarke.
