Brandon Hagel Exposes Matthew Tkachuk's Comments That Ignited Canada Vs. USA Brawl
After what was one of the most exciting starts to any international hockey game in recent memory, Brandon Hagel exposes what Matthew Tkachuk said to him that ignited the 3 brawl start to the Team Canada Vs USA matchup.
One thing that also added fuel to the fire is that Brandon Hagel and Matthew Tkachuk have an extensive rivalry as both the lighting and Panthers fight over being the top team in Florida.
Before the game commenced, there is a video of Matthew Tkachuk in warmups skating by Hagel and mouthing something.
In an interview during the intermission with Sportsnet reporter Kyle Bukauskas, Hagel revealed what Tkachuk said to challenge him.
Yeah, I Think I blacked out. I think, just trying to get something energy in the building. He asked, and I'm not backing down from him.
- Brandon Hagel
"I'm not backing down from him." 👀

Although nothing bad or explicit was said by Tkachuk, in combination to being challenged in a highly anticipated matchup, there is no way that any player on either side was going to shy away from getting physical.
It is no surprise that it's Tkachuk who was the one getting involved in the extra curriculars as he has been outspoken to the Canadian fans booing the United States National Anthem due to Donald Trump imposing tariffs on Canada.
Matthew Tkachuk on some fans booing the U.S. anthem:
«I didn't like it. That's all I got.»
At the end of the day, the rivalry between Canada and the U.S. dates back decades, but the recent of events have sparked even more reason to want to beat one another .
