Brock Boeser Admits to Vancouver Canucks Fans Something No One Wants to Hear, and It's Not Good
Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser has chimed in on the ongoing issues that surround the Vancouver Canucks, JT Miller and Elias Pettersson, and it is not what fans want to hear.
The Vancouver Canucks have gone through more this season than probably any other team in the NHL.
The Canucks have been slammed with injuries this season, and to their biggest stars to boot.
Brock Boeser, JT Miller, Elias Pettersson, Filip Hronek and Quinn Hughes have only played a handful of games together, as at least one has been down with the injury bug.
To make matters even more interesting, Brock Boeser is currently in the final year of his 3-year, $19.95 million contract with a cap hit of $6.65 per season, and is looking to secure the bag with a major pay raise this offseason.
Brock Boeser Confirms that the outside distraction of JT Miller and trade rumors are causing issues for the Vancouver Canucks locker room
But, with the negative decline of the Vancouver Canucks and the lack of progression in signing an extension, even his name has been thrown around in trade rumors, even stating that he understands if general manager Patrik Allvin would trade him by the deadline.
Given that the Canucks have been struggling of late, Boeser acknowledged that there's a chance Patrik Allvin could trade him before the deadline.
"All I want to do right now is help our team and be part of the solution, getting our team back on track. I mean, really play some good hockey with these guys, and then let (management) make a decision on me. I don't want to have it be like this." Boeser said.
He added, "Any team that's not doing well, there's going to be changes. I haven't played to my best this year, and I expect better for myself and, you know, I'm a UFA at the end of the year. So they could look at me and be like, 'He's the easy guy (to trade) right now.'"
Brock Boeser added that the outside noises of the ongoing rift with JT Miller and Elias Pettersson have caused issues within the locker room.
On top of that, between the trade rumors of him getting traded and JT Miller being dealt has added a lot more noise to the season that makes it hard to block out, especially with the relentless media playing a major factor.
«It's been an interesting year, a lot of injuries, some distractions and stuff,» says Brock Boeser.
«It can be tough to block everything outsometimes I feel it affects our team in some games.»
In conclusion, Brock Boeser confirmed what fans did not want to hear, that this season is being severely affected by all of the outside issues and noise.
The next step is that a trade could be imminent.
