Canucks and free agency: Allvin to make an announcement?
The Canucks were very busy when the free agency market opened, but even though Patrik Allvin has been quiet since then, it doesn't mean he hasn't been working.
The ongoing belief around the club is that an announcement is coming. It was discussed on Canucks Army, but according to many insiders, the Canucks aren't done shopping. The dispute was whether or not they should think about adding another puck-moving defenseman or if they needed to add more scoring up front.
The Canucks had apparent issues in finding the puck off the net at five-on-five during the playoffs, and they desperately needed help from their bottom six, who simply couldn't deliver. Allvin addressed those needs as he replaced Elias Lindholm with Kiefer Sherwood, Danton Heinen and Jake Debrusk.
Would another scoring winger make sense? Perhaps Tyler Johnson or Daniel Sprong? Or should they add a puck-moving defenceman like the BC Native Tyson Barrie?
