Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs lands big partnership in home country
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs has landed a big partnership in his home country of Latvia.
Arturs Silovs arrived in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in style, playing lights out for the Vancouver Canucks prior to their elimination at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 of their second round series. Off the ice, Silovs takes his style very seriously and he's recently landed a partnership with one of the biggest car companies in the world.
In a social media post on Thursday night, Silovs shared that he's partnered with Porsche Latvija (Latvia) and discussed the brand on Instagram, saying that he was asked to test out the company's new full electric car called the 'Taycan'.
Silovs was full of praise for Porsche in his social media post, as one would be with a partnership deal, adding that the new 'Taycan' is a very comfortable car for himself and picks up speed easily and is not difficult to maneuver.
Here in North America, depending on the model, the Porsche Taycan retails anywhere from $130,000 to $200,000+ CAD, making it one of the most expensive electric cars on the market right now.
Note: the following quote is translated from Latvian.
"After the conclusion of the "electric" NHL "play-off" season, returning to Latvia, I had the opportunity to test and enjoy the new, fully electric "Porsche Taycan". 🚗⚡️ As a brand, "Porsche" is primarily associated with speed and power for me, but when talking about "Taycan", I can say that it is also a very comfortable car - it picks up speed easily and is easy to maneuver, generally comfortable for the driver. 🏎️✨ As technology improves, electric cars only get more pluses - quieter driving, which is definitely important in cities, more environmentally friendly, currently charging is also very fast. 🌍🔋 I personally really like the design of "Porsche", its elegance - no other car brand can repeat it. 💎
Thank you @porschelatvija for the cooperation. 🙏"
Silovs, 23, is coming off a standout performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for Vancouver and with the departure of Casey DeSmith in free agency to the Dallas Stars, the Latvian netminder is poised to grab the full-time backup role behind Thatcher Demko for the 2024-25 campaign.
