During Monday's episode of 'Donnie & Dhali', the two were discussing possible targets for the Vancouver Canucks and Dhaliwal said that the team will have interest in bringing Tyler Toffoli back if he hits the market next Monday.
There's no doubt Patrik Allvin will be pretty aggressive in free agency as he looks for someone to play in their top-six forward group and hopefully that player can add a scoring punch to the lineup. Tyler Toffoli fits both of those categories perfectly and doesn't look like he'll be slowing down in the scoring department anytime soon after recording back-to-back 30+ goal seasons.
Toffoli, 32, appeared in 79 games this season with the New Jersey Devils and Winnipeg Jets, Toffoli had 55 points (33 goals, 22 assists), 14 penalty minutes and was a minus-six. He went on to add two goals in five games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Scarborough, Ontario native appeared in 17 games between the regular season and playoffs with the Vancouver Canucks in 2019-20, putting up 14 points. The Canucks would then let Toffoli walk to free agency in October 2020 after Jim Benning claimed he ran out of time to bring him back and eventually he signed with another Canadian team, the Montreal Canadiens.
