Former Abbotsford Canucks head coach Jeremy Colliton may not be without a job for long and could be returning to the National Hockey League next season.

On Friday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman shared that there's a chance Jeremy Colliton may be back in the National Hockey League next season with Sheldon Keefe and the New Jersey Devils.

"I heard there's a chance Colliton could end up with Sheldon Keefe in New Jersey," Friedman said.

Colliton, 39, joined the Vancouver Canucks organization as the head coach of the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks ahead of the 2022-23 season. In two seasons with Abbotsford, Colliton led the team to the Calder Cup Playoffs both years, where they'd lose in the Division Semifinals. In 144 games with Abbotsford, Colliton had a record of 80-50-14.

Prior to joining the Canucks organization, Colliton had parts of four seasons of experience as a head coach in the National Hockey League. From 2018-19 to 12 games into the 2021-22 campaign, Colliton was the bench boss for the Chicago Blackhawks. During his tenure in Chicago, the Blackhawks made the playoffs once - 2020, where they defeated Edmonton in the qualifying round before bowing out following a first round loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
