J.T. Miller Takes Exception to Quinn Hughes' Comments & Responds with Cheap Shot in Reunion

In what was expected to be a a heated reunion between the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Rangers as it was the first time J.T. Miller and
Elias Pettersson face off against one another amid the reported drama and trade, the game turned out to be more tame than previously expected.
J.T. Miller shows frustration with Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes
Leading up to the game, it was revealed that it was more than Elias Pettersson who had a say in Miller's departure, but in fact captain Quinn Hughes told Patrik Allvin they should keep EP40 instead as he has a lot bigger upside and future.
I think Hughes really backed Pettersson...He knew the fanbase was split on this but he felt very strongly that EP could still have a big impact for them. He believed this was a move they had to make. He believed in the long run every1 would be better off.
Fans believed it was going to be more chippy between Pettersson and Miller, but in fact Miller took more than one shot at Hughes, most notably after whistle that had spectators up in arms.

It could have been a friendly hit from a former teammate, but by the reaction of Hughes and the recent comments it most likely came out of pettiness.
In the end thought, Miller got the last laugh, scoring a goal and assist in the win over his former team.
