LATEST | Nikita Zadorov handed match penalty for massive open ice hit: Suspension on the way
Vancouver Canucks defender Nikita Zadorov is perhaps most known for his physical and aggressive play style. The 6-foot-6, 248 pound Moscow native was traded to the Canucks earlier this season and has made his presence known, delivering 109 hits, blocking 48 shots, and receiving 66 penalty minutes so far this season.
However, sometimes his play style proves to be overly physical, as he was assessed a match penalty for a high hit on Red Wings' forward Lucas Raymond:
Zadorov catches the vulnerable Raymond up near the head area with a check as he dishes the puck across the neutral zone. He appeared unimpressed with the call, as Raymond fell to the ice holding his head area.
Zadorov, 28, has a single goal and 10 points through 47 games this season.
