LATEST | Updates on the Chris Tanev derby are in: Canucks slowly fading away from contention
Chris Tanev's name has found a home on every NHL Insider's trade bait lists, and the chatter around the defenceman will not go away.
It appears to be a certainty that Tanev will be dealt, but according to Elliotte Friedman, there's enough interested parties that the Flames are being patient and not budging from their ask.
I think the Flames are waiting until 1st round pick gets offered... if a team steps up with a 1st rounder I could see it happening, and I think there's a pretty big group there,
Friedman lists teams like Toronto, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton and Vancouver as very interested suitors.
He noted that while the Canucks see it as difficult to pull off, they like the player a lot and additionally, want to keep him out of Edmonton.
We'll see over the coming weeks if Flames GM Craig Conroy gets the 1st round pick he seeks for Tanev.
