Mancini made his National Hockey League debut this season and has gone on to appear in 15 games for the New York Rangers, scoring his first career goal on October 17th against the Detroit Red Wings.
It was unclear where Mancini was going to head once he arrived in Vancouver and while he was initially assigned to the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks, he's now been called up to the NHL.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Victor Mancini has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL)." the Canucks said on X.
With there not being any corresponding move, this could signal that there's an injury on the blue line for the Vancouver Canucks, potentially to captain Quinn Hughes, who was banged up in Friday's game in Dallas and was supposed to be a game-time decision tonight.
Mancini, a native of Hancock, Michigan, has also appeared in 23 games in the AHL for the Hartford Wolf Pack where he's registered ten points (three goals, seven assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
We'll have to wait and see what lineup decisions Rick Tocchet makes ahead of tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings, with puck drop set for just after 5 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
