MAJOR | NHL issues a statement regarding Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes

The Canucks captain Quinn Hughes is on another record-breaking journey. After passing his franchise record for the most points in a single season, he has 11 games to make it even better.
Against the Flames on Saturday, the captain registered his 80th point of the campaign in only 71 games. He became the third Canuck to reach to break the 80-point mark, a feat that has only been accomplished once on the Canucks since 1982-1983z
NHL ISSUES A STATEMENT ON QUINN HUGHES
Not only did Captain Hughes increase his career high, but by registering his 80th point on the season, he also became the fifth American Defenseman in League history to score 80 points. The first since Brian Leetch in 1995-1996:
Quinn Hughes (13-67-80 in 71 GP) became the fifth different U.S.-born defenseman in NHL history to record 80 points in a season and the
first since Brian Leetch (15-70-85 in 82 GP] in 1995-96
Hughes slowed down a bit in the season's second half since before Christmas, he remained on pace for 100 points. If he keeps his current pace, Hughes will register 92 points over 82 games.
