New statistics released on Tuesday afternoon reveal how important captain Quinn Hughes is to the Vancouver Canucks organization, especially during the 2024-25 season.

As of Tuesday morning, the Vancouver Canucks sit three points back of a wild card spot in the Western Conference after a big win in New Jersey last night.
A big reason for why the Vancouver Canucks are in the mix for a second straight appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs is the play of their captain Quinn Hughes and without him in the lineup, it's hard to envision where this team would be.

Statistics show how important Quinn Hughes is to the Vancouver Canucks

It's been a tough season for Quinn Hughes in terms of injuries he's sustained, but when on the ice and in the Vancouver Canucks lineup, he's been a force to be reckoned with.
In a post on social media this afternoon, Sportsnet reporter Dan Murphy highlighted an interesting and quite impressive statistic regarding Quinn Hughes, which just shows how important he is to the Vancouver Canucks organization.
With Quinn Hughes in the lineup, the Vancouver Canucks score at even strength at a higher rate than any other team in the National Hockey League in the last 18 seasons that shot attempts have been tracked.
The Canucks are also second in the National Hockey League this season for even strength goal differential, according to Evolving Hockey.
Now on the other side of things, without Quinn Hughes, things have looked quite bleak for the Vancouver Canucks, with the 24th worst even strength goal differential and scoring at a rate only better than roughly ten percent of teams in the shot attempt tracking era, since the 2007-08 season.
Offensively, Quinn Hughes has been a leader for the Vancouver Canucks in recent years, reaching 65+ points in each of the last four seasons, including 92 in 2023-24, which helped him earn his first career Norris Trophy last summer.
Down the stretch, the Vancouver Canucks are going to need to hope that Quinn Hughes can continue to produce at the pace he has been if they have any hopes of reaching the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
