The huge defenceman is coming to Vancouver on a two-year deal after he chose to part ways with the Oilers, the organization he had been a part of for the better part of the last eight years.
Ever since he left the Oilers and chose to sign with the Canucks? Desharnais has been giving lots of interviews all around Canada and he was recently on the Jason Gregor Show where he took an interesting jab at the Flames and Calgary.
While he may be switching jerseys from the Oilers to the Canucks, the enemy teams will remain very similar. During the show, Desharnais explained how he ended up in Vancouver and what it meant for him to leave the Oilers. Along the way, the newest member of the organization took the opportunity to take a jab at the Calgary Flames, stating that there were no place «as bad has Calgary». Here's the clip:
Adding Desharnais remains an intriguing choice for the Canucks. With Tyler Myers on the team's other bottom pair, this has the be the biggest or one of the biggest right side defensemen in the NHL.
What's even more intriguing is the fact that, despite the fact that he's 28, Desharnais has only played in 114 NHL Regular Season games meaning the full extent of his potential remains to be seen. Making this hire, Allvin his confident that Rick Tocchet, Sergei Gonchar and Adam Foote are going to figure it out, are you as confident in the team's coaching staff?
