NHL issues a statement: Quinn Hughes on the cusp of Canucks history
Quinn Hughes has a chance to make Canucks history on Tuesday night when the team takes on Edmonton for Game 4, as the 24-year-old looks to become the first defenseman in franchise history to record multiple postseasons with double-digit points.
Hughes scored 16 points when the Canucks last made the playoffs in 2020, and he currently has 8 points in 9 games. A two-point game will earn a Canuck record for the young captain.
Quinn Hughes needs two points to become the first defenseman in Canucks history to record multiple 10-point postseasons (also 16 in 2020).
The Canucks' captain has continued to be an offensive force even as opposing teams try to target him physically. While he's yet to score a goal, Hughes' 8 assists are good for second place on the team.
After being held scoreless in Game 1's win over the Oilers, Hughes added an assist in Game 2 and another two in Game 3.
He'll hope to hit the 10-point plateau and help lead the Canucks to a 3-1 stranglehold in the series over the Oilers; tonight's game starts at 6:30 PM PST.
At only 24 years old, do you consider Hughes the best defenceman to ever play for the Canucks?
