NHL Playoff hockey is well-known for raising the stakes and the emotions to a new level. As we approach the primary goal, the intensity arises, and the teams that usually win are the ones who stay within the lines.

The Predators' forward Michael McCarron crossed a line last night when he ran the Canucks' goaltender Casey DeSmith. The man wearing the big pillows got out of his net to play the puck, and McCarron showed no mercy when he intentionally ran the goalie.

It spiced things up during the game. A scrum ensued in this sequence, McCarron was sent to the penalty box, and just like a scripted movie, it led to the Canucks' first goal.

As if that wasn't punishing enough for the Preds, the NHL Player Safety Department just issued a statement that announced a $2,000 fine for the interference he ran on DeSmith:

Nashville's Michael McCarron has been fined $2,000 for goalie interference on Vancouver's Casey DeSmith.

On several occasions, Nikita Zadorov stepped up to the plate and showed McCarron that he wouldn't be doing that anymore. He, however, withdrew from stepping outside the lines and found legal ways to hurt them.

The Canucks and the Predators will be back for game four on Sunday.
