NHL makes announcement on Game 6 between Canucks & Oilers
After a big win in Game 5 on Thursday night, the Vancouver Canucks and their fans are in good spirits and are optimistic heading into Saturday's Game 6 in Edmonton.
Thanks to goals from new dad Phillip Di Guiseppe, Carson Soucy, who returned from a one-game suspension and a late winner from J.T. Miller, the Canucks took Game 5 by a score of 3 to 2 and now lead their second round series 3-2.
After the win, the National Hockey League made an announcement regarding Game 6 between the Canucks and Oilers, which is set for Saturday. The Canucks vs Oilers game is the only contest on Saturday because the New York Rangers won their series over the Carolina Hurricanes.
As a result of that, the National Hockey League has announced that Game 6 will be played at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
"The National Hockey League today announced the following updates to the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round schedule:
Saturday, May 18
The start time of Game 6 of the Second Round series between the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers has been set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 18, in Edmonton. The game will be televised on Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports in Canada. In the U.S., the game will be on ESPN." The NHL said.
This is good news for not only Canucks and Oilers fans, who will get their teams in primetime on a Saturday night, but it's also great for all Canadian hockey fans, especially on the East Coast, who won't have to stay up very late to watch.
