Vancouver Canucks netminder Arturs Silovs played a big role in the team's Game 3 win on Sunday night, making 42 saves on 45 shots for his fourth win of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Following the win, the National Hockey League made a statement on their Public Relations account on X, saying that Arturs Silovs only the second rookie goaltender in Vancouver Canucks history to make 42 or more saves in a playoff game.

The only other to do so in Canucks history is Thatcher Demko, who had 48 saves in Game 6 against Vegas in 2020 and 42 saves in Game 5 of that same series.

"Arturs Silovs made 42 saves to help the @Canucks take a 2-1 series lead. Thatcher Demko is the only other rookie netminder in franchise history to post 42+ saves in a playoff game (48 in Game 6 of 2020 R2 & 42 in Game 5 of 2020 R2). #StanleyCup"

The NHL also shared that Silovs is only the fourth rookie goaltender in the last ten years to have four or more wins in a single postseason, joining Jordan Binnington, Matt Murray and Stuart Skinner.

"Arturs Silovs earned his fourth win of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Over the past 10 years, only three different rookie goaltenders have posted more wins in a postseason: Jordan Binnington (16 in 2019), Matt Murray (15 in 2016 & 7 in 2017) and Stuart Skinner (5 in 2023).

Silovs and the Canucks will look to push the Edmonton Oilers to the brink of elimination on Tuesday night. Puck drop for Game 5 in Edmonton is set for 6:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and CBC.
