Every star on the team has already played one game. Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, Jake Debrusk, Quinn Hughes and even Filip Hronek have all played and seen an essential amount of ice time, but J.T. Miller is still watching from the sidelines.
After the Canucks revealed their line-up ahead of their fourth pre-season game against the Flames, Rick Tocchet was asked to address J.T. Miller's absence and revealed that the star forward might only get a chance on Monday, at which date the Canucks are set to hit the ice against the Oilers:
Concern rises as Miller once again shines in his absence. The Canucks have been known in the past not to be fully transparent in regards to their injury reports, and it just might be it.
Miller played a vital role in the team's successes in 2023-2024, and losing him and Thatcher Demko before the season starts would set the Canucks back miles. The author of 102 points last year, he was a key contributor both on offence and on defence, when you top that to his intensity and leadership, the Canucks can't afford to lose his presence especially with their young core.
Right now, all we can hope for is for Miller to join the team against the Oilers on Monday and show that there is nothing to worry about.
