The newly retired NHLer Landon Ferraro showed up during the Canucks' first exhibition game intermission and as confirmed by Sportsnet, it wasn't a one off since Ferraro will make other appearances through the year.
Ferraro sat alongside Dan Murphy and Satiar Shah to analyse the game. The former NHLer follows his father's footsteps. The former NHLer Ray Ferraro also turned to NHL broadcasts when he retired from the game itself. Ray will once again be the Canucks' colour announcer alongside John Shorthouse for a select number of games this year.
33, Landon is a Trail, BC native that spent 12 seasons in Hockey's pro atmosphere playing at various levels. Despite never playing in any official Canucks game, Ferraro did spend some time with the organization as he joined the team on a professional try out in 2019.
Still fairly young, Ferraro made good use of his connections and the experience he had gain through the time he spent on Sportsnet650 as an analyst. He will make a great example for other NHLers who try to re-invent themselves after they've reach the end of their playing career.
Landon may have be given a very unique opportunity to share the screen with his father Ray.
