It is clear that each game, head coach rick Tocchet has been playing around and shaking the lineups in order to find chemistry/combinations that fit, but has not had much success yet. The Canucks are now 0-1-2 on the season and have brought up a young gun form the AHL Abbottsford Canucks to try and inject some life into their blue line.
After playing the first game of the season and struggling, newly signed defenseman Vincent Desharnais has been slotted back into the defensive pairings and will be playing with Carson Soucy.
The two most notable aspects of this roster is newcomer Brannstrom playing alongside Tyler Myers on the second D-pairing, and of course moving Conor Garland onto the first line with Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander. The fact of the matter is that, this is not the Canucks usual top line, and despite EP40's struggles and Garland excelling, this could be a line that works, but tonight will be a test.
What may come to a surprise to some, but not to other is forward Daniel Sprong is still out of the lineup being a healthy scratch. There has not been any further comments made on why that is.
