One of those players is Elias Lindholm, the biggest in-season acquisition for Canucks GM Patrik Allvin after he was acquired on January 31.
Lindholm struggled to find his game with the Canucks down the stretch, and some even questioned whether the trade was worth making - but the 29 year old has changed everyone's tune here in the playoffs.
With 7 points in 9 games and strong defensive play, Elias Lindholm has gone from a player the Canucks would easily let walk in the offseason to someone they could see as a core piece.
On Monday's 32 Thoughts Podcast, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said at this point Elias Lindholm might be priority number 1 when it comes to Canuck free agents.
Friedman and his co-host Jeff Marek said you can change the narrative about yourself in the playoffs, and Lindholm has certainly done that.
The Insider said on a previous episode that while the strong play of pending UFAs is helping carry the Canucks to success right now, it will make for a tough summer for Canucks management.
A good problem to have, but there will be tough decisions ahead.
